Bridgwater United Women FC have announced the signing of promising forward Emison Evans ahead of the upcoming season.
The 20‑year‑old attacker, known for her pace and relentless hard work, joins United, where she impressed with an impressive pre-season with the club.
Head Coach Steve Perkins said, “Emison first caught the eye in the final game of the 2024/25 campaign while playing for Southampton Women, when she was a constant threat against our defence. Unfortunately, in that game she suffered an ACL injury.
“She has worked tirelessly to get herself back onto the pitch and joined us at the start of pre-season. Since then, she’s continued to work incredibly hard, gradually building from her first ten minutes back, to now being ready to go.
“Emison has represented England Colleges and has gained experience with clubs including Bristol City U21’s, Swindon Town and Southampton Women, as well as being registered with Bristol Rovers last season.
“She’s a really dynamic and skilful player who can bring something different to our attacking play. We’re delighted to have her with us and really looking forward to seeing what she can bring to the group in the season ahead.”
Evans expressed her excitement at the move, stating, “After being out for an entire season due to injury, I wanted my return to be at a club with huge ambitions and aspirations to push for promotion whilst remaining person focussed.
“Pre season has been really successful and I’ve felt very valued and supported on my return to football here at Bridgwater. I’m really looking forward to the league starting and playing alongside a group of very talented players.”
The club hopes her signing will strengthen their attacking options as they prepare for a challenging campaign in the Women’s National League, which starts this weekend.
Welcome to Bridgwater United WFC, Emison.
