Bridgwater United Women are delighted to announce the signing of Ellie Strippel ahead of the 2026/27 FA Women’s National League season.

The talented midfielder returns to the Robins having previously represented the club, bringing with her a wealth of experience, proven quality and a winning mentality following an impressive spell with AFC Bournemouth.

Since leaving Bridgwater, Ellie has established herself as one of the South West’s standout midfielders. Most recently, she played a key role in AFC Bournemouth’s promotion-winning campaign, helping the Cherries secure the FA Women’s National League Division One South West title and National League Plate.

Renowned for her creativity, technical ability and eye for goal, Ellie arrives with an impressive record of goals and assists and will provide another exciting attacking option for the Robins.

Her return represents another significant statement of intent as Bridgwater United Women continue to build an ambitious squad for the 2026/27 campaign.

First Team Head Coach, Steve Perkins, said: “We’ve spoken about the players who have worn this badge before and the standards they’ve set. When Bournemouth won the league two seasons ago, Els [Ellie Strippel] was one of the standout players in the division, and someone who consistently influenced games.

“That winning experience, combined with the hunger within the rest of the group, gives us an exciting platform as we continue to build towards our ambitions.”

“I’ve not been here for a few years, but seeing the club grow, its been really nice to see from afar. Its definitely going to be a season to remember and one where we can create loads of good moments.”
