About Bridgwater United Women Football Club
The Story
Bridgwater United Women’s Football Club, nicknamed “The Robins,” is an independent women’s football club based in Bridgwater, Somerset.
The club currently competes in the FA Women’s National League Division One South West (Tier 4) and is committed to the continued development of women’s and girls’ football.
The club’s history dates back to 1990, when it was founded as Yetminster Ladies. Since then, the team has competed under several names, including Yeovil Town Ladies and Yeovil United. In 2021, the club became Bridgwater United Women following a merger with Bridgwater Town.
In 2024, Bridgwater United Women became a standalone women’s football club once again. Today, the club has no affiliation with any men’s football club and operates with separate ownership, governance, management and day-to-day operations.
The club are proud to be a person-first, professionally run club, committed to providing a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for everyone connected with Bridgwater United Women.
Our focus is on developing women’s and girls’ football, supporting our players and staff, and representing Bridgwater and the wider community with professionalism, integrity and pride.
