CUP TEST AWAITS AS ARGYLE VISIT THE ETHAN BERRY PAVILION

Bridgwater United Women FC return to cup action this Sunday as Plymouth Argyle WFC make the trip to the Ethan Berry Pavilion for an FA Women’s National League Cup Group Stage clash.

Kick-off is at 2pm, with the Robins looking to make home advantage count once again as they face one of the biggest tests of the early season.

After beginning the league campaign with three wins from three, including a 1-0 victory over Maidenhead United Women on the opening home league fixture at the Ethan Berry Pavilion, the Robins will be hoping to carry that momentum into Sunday’s cup tie.

The visitors arrive from the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division, one tier above Bridgwater, making this an excellent opportunity for the Robins to test themselves against higher-level opposition.

Plymouth Argyle are also rebuilding, having undergone significant changes during the summer, and will provide a strong challenge for the Bridgwater squad.

For Bridgwater, however, this is about more than simply facing a higher-ranked opponent.

It is another opportunity to showcase the progress being made both on and off the pitch, in front of what has quickly become an increasingly enthusiastic home support.

With the new season now underway, the Robins have already shown their ability to grind out results, with a 3-0 win at The Mem against Bristol Rovers, then a narrow 1-0 league victory over Maidenhead, followed by a hard-fought cup defeat away to Torquay United days later. This was backed up however, with a dominant performance, beating Ascot United 6-0 last weekend.

Sunday provides the chance to put that experience to use and make a statement against Argyle.

đź”´ ANOTHER BIG DAY AT THE ETHAN BERRY PAVILION

The opening home game of the season saw a fantastic response from supporters, and Sunday’s cup tie promises another exciting afternoon for everyone connected with Bridgwater United Women FC.

There is Live Music from 1:00pm, with Sheppy’s Cider offering cider tasting ahead of kick off.

With a place in the next stage of the competition at stake, there is plenty to play for.

The players will be looking to give the home supporters another performance to get behind — and hopefully another memorable afternoon at the Ethan Berry Pavilion.
