A NEW HOME. A NEW CHAPTER.

The wait is almost over.

Tomorrow, Bridgwater United Women FC finally return home — and what a way to do it.

For the first time, we will walk out in front of our supporters at our new home, the Ethan Berry Pavilion, as we welcome Maidenhead United Women FC in our opening home fixture of the 2026/27 FA Women’s National League campaign.

Kick-off is at 2:00pm, with the occasion marking a hugely exciting new chapter for the club.

After beginning the season on the road with a memorable 3-0 victory away at Bristol Rovers Women, the team will be looking to build on that impressive start when Maidenhead make the journey to Somerset.

THE OPPOSITION

Maidenhead United Women arrive in Bridgwater looking to make their mark on the new campaign.

The two sides are familiar opponents, having faced each other in previous FA Women’s National League campaigns, including a 1-0 Bridgwater victory at Maidenhead in August 2024. In September 2025, a last minute penalty for Maidenhead, saw the points shared, before in January 2026, Bridgwater came out on top with a 3-1 win, with Watkins, along with a Jarvis double, finding the net.

With both teams looking to establish themselves early in the season, another competitive encounter is expected.

Maidenhead are managed by former professional footballer Dave Kitson, with Sean Hillier serving as assistant manager.

A WINNING START

Steve Perkins’ side could hardly have asked for a better start to the new campaign.

Three goals, a clean sheet and three points at The Memorial Stadium against Bristol Rovers provided an excellent opening statement.

Manfy Shapre opened the scoring with a header from an Ellie Strippel corner, before Aimee Kingdon doubled the advantage in the second half.

Abbey Hateley then rounded off the scoring with an excellent volley following another well-worked corner from Strippel.

At the other end, goalkeeper Jasmine Read produced an outstanding reaction save, while Libby Gimson also made an important block to keep Rovers at bay.

Now, the challenge is to take that momentum into our new home.

THE FIRST CHAPTER

Tomorrow isn’t simply about three points.

It’s about creating memories.

It’s about seeing Bridgwater United Women walk out at their new home for the first time.

It’s about the players, staff, volunteers, sponsors and supporters coming together as one club.

And, ultimately, it’s about beginning a new chapter at the Ethan Berry Pavilion, in Middlezoy.

The team have already shown what they are capable of on the road.

Now it’s time to bring that energy home.
