Two games. Seven days. One big opportunity.

The magic of the Women’s FA Cup returns today as Bridgwater United Women FC travel to face Swindon Town Women FC in the First Round Proper, with a place in the next round up for grabs.

The Robins face a significant test against opposition from a higher division, but will make the trip full of confidence after another positive start to the season. With the opportunity to test themselves against higher-league opposition, the squad will be determined to make the most of the occasion and continue their cup journey.

In-form Robins

Those results reflect the determination, resilience and character within the squad — qualities that will be vital in a cup tie where every moment matters.

The Robins have already demonstrated their ability to rise to the occasion this season, and tomorrow presents another opportunity to show what this group is capable of.

Bridgwater head into the tie after a midweek victory at Keynsham at the AJN Stadium, extending their impressive league campaign. The result followed a remarkable 4-2 comeback win away at Moneyfields, as well as an exciting 3-2 win at the Ethan Berry Pavilion against Bournemouth Sports.

The challenge ahead

Swindon Town compete in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division, one tier above Bridgwater’s Division One South West.

Their league campaign has included a goalless draw against AFC Wimbledon, a narrow 2-1 defeat to Lewes, and most recently a 5-1 defeat to Cheltenham Town midweek. They will be equally keen to make progress in the competition on home soil.

With a place in the next round at stake, both sides have plenty to play for. Bridgwater will need to bring intensity, discipline and belief from the first whistle as they look to challenge their higher-league opponents.

The magic of the cup

The Women’s FA Cup offers the chance to create special moments, take on new challenges and write another chapter in a club’s story.

For Bridgwater, this is about more than simply reaching the next round. It is another opportunity to demonstrate the progress being made, compete against higher-level opposition and showcase the ambition running throughout the club.

With three games in eleven days, the demands on the squad are high, but the Robins will be focused on the task ahead.

Higher-league opposition. An away day. Everything to play for.

The travelling support will be important as Bridgwater look to make their presence felt and give themselves the best possible chance of progressing.

Can the Robins rise to the occasion and keep their Women’s FA Cup journey alive?

The game is being played at Cirencester Town FC, GL7 1HS.

2 exciting weekends ahead.

Whilst attention is firmly on today’s FA Cup trip to Wiltshire, Bridgwater are then back in action in 7 days time as we welcome Tottenham Hotspur Women PGA U21s to Middlezoy in the FA WNL League Cup.

Better Never Stops.
