Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Abingdon United was made even more special as three members of the Bridgwater United Women FC family reached significant milestones.

Ellie-Mae Bell, affectionately known as ‘Mabel’, made her 100th appearance for the club — and marked the occasion in the best possible way by opening the scoring in the victory.

Since making her debut for Bridgwater United Women, Mabel has become an important part of the club and its journey, making her 100th appearance a fantastic achievement.

Following the match, Mabel was presented with a small gift and memento to mark the occasion, in front of her teammates, staff and supporters.

Her player sponsor, Ali Warren from Somerset Healthcare Limited, part of WPA Healthcare, was on hand to make the presentation on behalf of the club, helping to make the occasion even more special.

There was further cause for celebration as Captain, Manfy Sharpe (sponsored by Chunky Chown Childcare) made her 50th appearance for the club, another impressive landmark for a special player who continues to make her mark on the team and its ongoing growth.

Completing the trio of milestones, Head Coach Steve Perkins took charge of his 50th league game with Bridgwater United Women.
